What is the time commitment for neurofeedback brain training?

Neurofeedback, much like physical training, is a progressive process aimed at optimizing mental performance. Initially, it’s beneficial to undergo training twice a week for about 10 sessions. Afterward, the frequency can either remain at twice per week or be reduced to once per week. Once the brain has been re-trained, the positive effects tend to be long-lasting. However, if you experience a particularly stressful period or encounter trauma after completing the training, a few refresher sessions can help restore balance.

How is progress measured in neurofeedback?

Since neurofeedback involves the brain training itself, progress tends to be gradual and subtle. To track improvements, clients complete a three-page questionnaire during their first session. After 10 sessions, they fill out the same questionnaire again, allowing us to compare their results and assess changes. Many clients are surprised by the positive shifts they notice within themselves.

As training continues, some individuals may experience changes in their need for medications. It's crucial for clients to stay in communication with their prescribing physician to discuss any progress and potential adjustments to their medication dosages.
